Unfortunately as for today skype 7.36 also appears to be dead.
Then dont log out.
i see that you got the 7.36.0.150 version.
Were did you get that installer version from?
@TReKiE do you maybe have an installer of the version @Maxime uses?
I have lost file setup for this version
is installed in my PC but not setup :S
maybe search for you
i suppose the blockage of the 7.36 version goes in phases.
I does not work anymore in holland.
So its highly likely your version will be shutdown soon.
So enjoy while you still can
But for me and another friend Skype 7.36.0.101 is blocked from signing in as per 28th of feb.
The fix lasted precisely one month.
Hope that one version of the 7 series gets working again.
But i have my doubts.
The new version 8.40 is still junk, and lacks split screen view still.
And from what i understand, split screen view won’t be added to Skype for desktop.
So in other words to get atleast some of the nice functionality back from the 7 versions,
We are forced to get on windows10.
I did found this site about forceed updates.
From what i read they seem to have a version of skype 7.41.32.101 for buisnesses that might still work.
But yeah i’m not sure if they are any trusted source
@TReKiE Do you maybe have an offline installer from the 7.41.32.101 version maybe?
RIP :’(
Told you so, that the version 7.36 will be shut down soon.
They found you.
This morning I woke up to Skype 7 endlessly trying to reconnect without success and still is trying to do so. Is it still working for anyone else?
Oh crap, Microsoft might have killed Skype 7.
Its probablly a global issue,
And i’m not sure if this issue is version number specific.
At my end it does connect, loads contactlist, but the blue circle cicles endlessy.
I saw a post about it in the skype forum, and that user had the latest version.
So i suppose there is a global issue with the sevice.
Did you check if skype 8 does connect?
Also skype 7.36 has not worked for me for a couple of weeks already.
It gets me the forced update.
Seems they the outage of yesterday was actually to nuke skype 7.
Weird thing is that even users on version 8 seem to have had issues,
and forced to update to a newer version.
Also outlook online seems to have got an update, so my guess that it might be the final,
nail to the coffin for skype 7 classic.
i just installed the newest skype 8 version for linux,
And that version appears to function normally.
So yeah idk
Yes, Skype 7.36 is dead.
Yup seems like unfortunately.
for some weird odd reason, now i have running skype 8 for linux on my laptop.
And wenn on my desktop windows now skype 7 does work again.
i’m now doing some more testing.
