The Windows Live thing only works for Mail if the Escargot account you use is also registered with Microsoft (granted because its login DLL isn’t modified). Someone could just replace the DLL a la Escargot for Windows Live Mail, but I don’t know how much more that would involve…

If you can find offline installers for Essentials 2009 - 2012, then you should be able to install the corresponding versions of Windows Live Mail.

As for '11 and '12, a quick google search for “windows live essentials X offline installer” (X being 2011 or 2012) should get you what you’re looking for.

You don’t need a patch. You just need to configure your email account manually.

Yes but also if your pc is old enough and is pre-built it can come with one of those versions that how i have them my pc pc came preinstalled with essentials 2009(for my desktop) and 2011(laptot)

I have trouble with SMTP (error 554) using Hotmail on WLM 2009. How did you solve it?

Settings:
Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
SSL: On
Password Authorization: On
SPA: Off (I tried to turn this on, it is giving the same 554 error)

Delete your settings, set up a new account but check Config Severs Manually and use the settings in the link.

Or use WLM 2012 with the @TReKiE’s patch to replace DeltaSync with Exchange ActiveSync

i used smtp.office365.com which worked and i think disable Password authorization because this gave me issues as well
