This is genuinely impressive work — getting the old clients talking to a
custom server is a different beast entirely, respect for making it happen.
For anyone following this thread who just needs somewhere to land today while
this matures: I built Phaze as the “new service” side of the same problem. It
doesn’t revive the old protocol but it does import your full Skype history,
runs on web/desktop/Android right now, and has E2EE DMs. Free, open source.
Not trying to step on what you’re building here — two different solutions to
the same thing.
