UPD (Dec 15, 2018): We’ve got Terra Messenger 2005 to work with Escargot! Here’s a patching instruction by @Dung: https://wink.messengergeek.com/t/terra-messenger-2005/8881/9


Recently I found this interesting unofficial MSN client named Terra Messenger 2005 by Terra Networks, S.A. that based on MSN 5.1.0639.

I tried to patch it for working with Escargot, but failed.

Btw, here are some screenshots of Terra Messenger 2005 by Softonic, where I downloaded this program. It looks like official MSN client with slightly changed design.

It also has a website, which is still working, but it states that Terra Messenger discontinued as of February 28, 2012 (?).

Terra Messenger on the screenshots is in spanish, but Terra is a brazillian internet company :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve done it already. I’ve edited registry and hex values, but it didn’t work.

This page is in Portuguese, not Spanish, however the messenger itself is in spanish.
Terra is still active today, but if i recall correctly it started being a Dial Up ISP.

I ACTUALLY PATCHED TERRA MESSENGER 2005 :smiley::point_down:
NOTE: YOU NEED NOTEPAD++ to edit carefully or the file will break and it’s cannot launch again

You can use Download link below if you don’t know how to patch or you don’t want to make the exe break.

You have to follow this instuction: https://escargot.log1p.xyz/patching
Same with MSN 5.0-6.2 does (MSN 4.7.2009 also work on this tutorial)

To login:
You can use old MSN support or MSN 5.0+ account.

You may try again until login successed. (XP only) (Windows Vista, 7 or newer support better TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1, 1.2(7 only) so it will work just like normal)

  • It may install at MSN 1.0-4.7 directory.(Expect Windows Messenger.)

you have to patch it like MSN 5.0 and Login using Escargot MSN 1.0 to 4.7 account because it’s use old auth system.
For mine it’s work

But if you trying to re-login, it will not work so you can try close it and open it again.

Heh if it was based on MSN 5.1.0715 then it would work without old MSN support

It’s doesn’t working for me, only MSN 1.0-4.7 support is working for me.
and the UI look same MSN 4.x has.

Also This was 4.7 because it’s even doesn’t have some MSN 5.0 features

EDIT: Actually MSN 5 support both MSN 1.0-4.7 and MSN 5.0+ account.

Go to softonic site https://terra-messenger.softonic.com
Then download it.
Now download Notepad++ to edit (because windows notepad have lags when editing exe)
now Modified like the instruction how to patch MSN in Escargot page.
