It looks like it relies on the the stock MSN 4 pre-installed, be sure to have old MSN support and check this post Using Messenger with Escargot on Windows XP, and avoiding the 80048821 error
versions of MSN 4 from 2009 to 3001 work with media center messenger but i can’t for the love of my life figure out to get it to work even after multiple workarounds
