Yet another MSN revival

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on a project for 2 years now, an MSN revival (with a huge focus on more recent WLM versions), I’ve progressed a lot since then, getting MSNP21 to work pretty stably.

I am not sure whether this will be released or not, especially considering CrossTalk is basically doing the same thing but better (with other IM softwares supported) lol

I’m just here to show off my progress, that’s it, maybe some public documentation will come out of this at some point too, who knows :stuck_out_tongue: (I suck at documenting stuff, but I promise I’ll try my best… might take a year or two tho since MSNP is a pretty complex and delicate protocol, and I haven’t been documenting much so far, I’ve just been implementing stuff without really worrying about that, which I regret a lot :smiling_face_with_tear:)

Is this based on CrossTalk? or you made it yourself?

Made it myself completely over the span of two years (on and off)

Hell yeah, good shit!

If you did get around to writing documentation that would be awesome. There isn’t much in the way of public MSNP21 documentation - I myself am stuck on the profile services (https://directory.services.live.com/profile/profile.asmx - which I believe is the replacement for the Schematized Storage service in earlier versions). I am curious if you had made any progress on it.

I can’t for the life of me find a WSDL dump for it that is actually helpful.

I should really get back into this…

Nice! That would be great, thank you!

Do you have a Discord I can contact you at?

I only use Discord for really close friends nowadays, you can PM me on here tho

Ah alright then

This is AMAZINGGG !!! Can i try it? :3

As I said in OG post, I don’t know whether this will be released or not, so for now this is only available to people I personally know

Oh, fair enough :stuck_out_tongue:

Btw, if you need any ideas for the tabs in wlm/msn, i can help you since i got a few lol :stuck_out_tongue: (im obsessed with them)

im talking about these icons btw

Sure, why not haha

Alr
1- first of all i would add kamtape since it looks like its from that time and supports almost all versions of IE as far as i know. i did also photoshop a 32x32 tab icon for it but i never really got to use it since for some reason my msn config server is having issues so i can send it to you if you struggle to find a 32x32 icon of it (i tried fetching the favicon but it was just way too small in my case)

2- i would probably add mess.be since its literally from that time and also supports almost all versions of IE as far as i know :stuck_out_tongue:

3- after that i would add escargot weather (if you have their permission ofcourse)

4- i would DEFINETLY add netscapes isp website because it has weather AND news .

i will continue adding stuff here when i find cool stuff (also sorry for my weird english, im turkish :stuck_out_tongue: )
NOTE: i just figured out how to make tab icons. i can help you make them if you need :))

oh also escargot and crosstalk uses mess.be for games so i bet you can implement it to your own config!

i could also help you too

Oh also, heres a quick little list i made of built-in tab icons:
1-res:bell (used for MSN alerts)
2-res:expedia (used for expedia.com)
3-res:carpoint (used for MSN autos)
4-res:eshop (used for MSN Shopping
5-res:zone (used for Zone.com)
6-res:msnbc (used for MSNBC News)
(i tested them all in MSN Messenger 7.5, they all seem to work. hope this helps!

heres a screenshot of them working!

i personally love it.
