Yahoo Messenger FTP

I’m currently using Yahoo Messenger 6 on Windows 98 and got it working to chat with my friends. I am using the Escargot server to be able to chat but I’d also like to get the file transfer function working too. I read somewhere that Yahoo used P2P so I’m assuming this could still be possible, but every attempt I’ve tried has failed. Yahoo’s default FTP port is 80. Could it be related to the port it is using?

how did u make it work on windows 98

I believe Yahoo Messenger 6 always worked with Windows 98. It was released in 2004 and there were still many home systems that had not upgraded to ME or 2000 or even XP so I’m assuming it natively supported 98 at that time.

Edit: I am using KernelEx but I think it will still run without any compatibility settings

or the servers tls or ssl?

I just used regedit to point it to escargot or nina servers
