WMP Revamped support for XP/Vista is ending

We are reaching out to inform you about an upcoming change regarding the support and availability of Windows Media Player Revamped (WMP Revamped) for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Effective January 27th, 2024, the support for WMP Revamped on both Windows XP and Windows Vista will be discontinued, and all WMP Revamped downloads for these operating systems will be removed from our website.

Why is this change happening?
As technology advances, it becomes increasingly challenging to maintain compatibility with older operating systems like Windows XP and Windows Vista. Microsoft has already ended support for both of these operating systems, and as a result, we have made the decision to align our support with current and supported Windows versions. This will allow us to focus our resources on providing the best possible experience for the majority of our users.

What does this mean for Windows XP and Windows Vista users of WMP Revamped?
After January 27th, 2024, WMP Revamped will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or technical support specifically for Windows XP and Windows Vista. This means that any issues or compatibility problems encountered while using WMP Revamped on these operating systems will not be addressed or resolved by our team.

What should Windows XP and Windows Vista users do?
We strongly recommend considering upgrading your operating system to a more recent and supported version of Windows, such as Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. By upgrading, you will not only gain access to the latest features and improvements but also ensure compatibility with a wider range of software and receive ongoing security updates from Microsoft.

Additionally, starting from January 27th, 2024, we will remove all WMP Revamped downloads specifically for Windows XP and Windows Vista from our MessengerGeek WMP Revamped post. Therefore, it is advisable to download a copy of the latest version of WMP Revamped for Windows XP or Windows Vista before this date if you wish to continue using it on your current setup.

What are the alternative options?
If upgrading your operating system or continuing to use WMP Revamped on Windows XP or Windows Vista is not feasible, we recommend exploring alternative media players that are compatible with these operating systems. Popular options include VLC Media Player, Media Player Classic, and PotPlayer. These players provide similar functionality and are actively maintained to ensure compatibility with various operating systems, including Windows XP and Windows Vista.

We understand that change can be challenging, but it is essential to adapt to newer technologies and operating systems to ensure a secure and optimized experience. We appreciate your understanding and support as we make these necessary adjustments.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this upcoming change or need assistance with transitioning to an alternative media player or upgrading your operating system, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

There may be a job at Microsoft (or Google) as a media spokesperson waiting for you :stuck_out_tongue:

(assuming AI hasn’t replaced that job anyway.)
