What are the latest Messenger versions?
For Windows 2000, the latest is 7.0.
And the rest?
IDK

Latest version for Windows 98 is MSN Messenger 6, version 7 for Windows 2000, and WLM 14 for Windows XP.
Windows XP’s latest MSN version is 14 (2009).
msn 7.0 works in windows 98 …i think
Last version of 95 is 5.x (installable but only Unpatched).

just ignore bump.
However, this happened: the butterfly animation fucked up:
The last version for NT 4.0 seems to actually be 4.7.0106 seems to be the last working for me…
95 and NT4: 5.0 (Will require TWN though, so either you need a specific MSNP proxy that does the USR OK thing while authenticating for you, or using a custom passport server)
98, ME and 2000 support 7.0 (not 7.5, that’s exclusively XP+ due to MSIDCRL, I believe 9x will use the legacy login dialog and 2000 the passport dialog box, both will require TWN, so same note as 5.0)
The newest version that’ll connect without a TWN solving proxy or SSLv2/SSLv3 mirror is early 4.x versions. (They will require an MD5 password though, which depends on your vendor on how to use.)
Reason Escargot’s patch doesn’t install on 9x is because it simply does not work in that environment due to requiring NT-specific shenanigans.
You could make an NT4 patch, but detours is a very picky beast that requires certain toolchains to compile for old NT versions. VS2008 works fine for compiling stuff that needs it, which will get you 2000.
What’s a MSNP proxy?
And how to use one?
Also,i use 4.7.0106 on my NT 4.0 VM,is it early 4.x to you?
