Google Talk is Google’s instant messaging service. It is a Jabber server and client (you can connect with other clients as well). It is integrated with Google mail.

but you need @gmail.com emails. and for example on QIP 2012. it says that the server is for jabber and it will make it jabber

yet it needs custom xmpp extensions that are well documented for my surprise. i’d like to suggest you to just write a plugin for prosody that will implement them
