Microsoft did not “abanddon” Vista after one or two years, in fact, it is still supported and receiving updates, and those issues (if they even existed in the first place) were fixed in either fixed in the first or second service pack.

I have used both Vista and 7 on the same computer, and I have found that Vista is much faster, has much nicer features and programs that were removed in 7, is more customizable, and has an overall less confusing layout.

And as I have previously stated, multiple tests have shown that Vista with SP2 performs the same, if not better than 7 in most areas.

Aaaaaand…does nothing on XP.

Na then please show me those tests.
Because i dont think so.

i worked with allmost all Windows versions (sever versions included), and also a few Linux distro´s.
So i would not call my self someone who is tricked by MS clever marketing nonsense.

Nope it only works for Vista not XP.

Thanks Pixietails for pasting that. I made a small bug with that (checking 64-bit) and missed it in testing since it was a bit rushed to get out there. My apologies for that.

I have a few more fixes I’ve added to test out and hopefully will have a release with the fix later on today.

I have to ask though, is your username really Kay?

That’s okay, thank you for responding and for continuing your work, it really means a lot to me!

And yes my name is Kay! :

Thanks for the update for Windows Vista. The installation was damn slow but it was worth it, it works perfectly. And I don’t have some issues you mentioned. I didn’t receive any message about Internet Explorer, and my hyperlinks are actually working! No need to copy/paste as you said. But the hyperlinks don’t seem to work with some of my friends. Strange…

My bad, it seems only our own links work. When a contact sends a link you’ll have to copy/paste.

I know you’ve already mentioned this before, but is there really anything you can do about it ? It’s frutrating.

Yeah, I was expecting that followup to be honest. I’ve been trying on and off for a while. It’s a bit of a needle in the haystack.

Nice name :yum:
New version is up now, give it a try.

It worked! Thank you so much! And your name’s very nice too

Does this version actually do ANYTHING for WIN XP?
Or is it still just the vista users who are getting all the help at the moment?

Windows Live Mail still cannot open in Vista x64
[/quote]Can you be a little more specific about what does happens? Error messages? Screenshots if needed, etc.

I can confirm it works fine for me in brand new installed Vista x64, installing 2011, setting up Mail and then upgrading. Specific to Windows Live Mail however, you might encounter a “To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319” message. Reviver/Essentials Setup will install .NET 4 for you, but you will need to reboot (unfortunately it doesn’t prompt for this).

Install Service Pack 2 on vista and get back to me… its the same thing as Windows 7. You want to see those tests? Install the OS for yourself… Show me that Vista is “garbage”… I’m typing this on Windows Vista. I can run several VMs, have hundreds of tabs open in chrome, render videos with vegas, and tons more, all at the same time, and Vista always runs stable… It also doesn’t have the horrid core parking, unlike 7. lets see if your windoze 7 can do that without freezing like a boner, go ahead, I’ll wait.
