Yesterday, out of pure luck, I found a string in the MSN executable that looked like this:
TEXTAD/[name]
It looked like an XPath string, so I pasted the individual node names into Google, and long story short, I was able to get a sample of the response sent by the text ad server and was able to get it working with my local Escargot server with a few modifications.
This can be extremely useful for advertising Escargot features and projects related to it and its frontends, especially since graphical ads would require some planning and thought in how they’ll be presented. I have an idea for a text ad for advertising Plus!, but I’m hoping the community can generate some more and have enough that they can be used in the future.
