This seems interesting.

“No Yahoo. It’s not happening.”
So I was mostly confused about this statement while touting AOL stuff, and it turns out that’s because AOL was sold from Yahoo to Bending Spoons near the start of 2026.
That probably helps that decision.
“The wiki will later be migrated into the project repo to help with distribution.”
Weird choice. If you needed the wiki in markdown there are options that allow it, I’m just more surprised that we’re agreeing to document something that is a wont-implement to the server.
“Wasn’t Escargot’s Yahoo support only functional with like one version?”
Yes, 5.5 right? I think it was a remnant of pre-modernization Escargot.
By that logic it was already sensical to remove. Why it took this long confuses me.
I don’t really have anything to say, but I will take interest once that Escargot post shows up.
(I’m surprised the news archive wasn’t purged with this release, but hey, that’s it’s own interesting thing)
I was think about the same thing about markdown, they could have used something like Astro, but im sure MediaWiki Supports Markdown too.
