Hi remember me from the post about getting working Skype 1-7 offline sessions? Well now Skype 8 is back too, and not offline.
I had to replace the whole login flow with the Teams one because they killed the legacy endpoints, and the ECS config is now served from Skymu servers (https://skymu.app/ecs/config/v1/brand/version) instead of the now-dead Skype servers (https://config.edge.skype.com/config/v1/brand/version), but here you go. Skype 8, working with Microsoft Teams servers. I’ve also successfully gotten KSkype to log in with my modifications but am not releasing it now as the dev has asked me not to; it uses much older endpoints for most stuff and all that needs to be fixed before a release, which he will do himself after merging my login fixes.
Versions 8.56, 8.95 Beta and 8.131 have been modified, Ive only done three because there is a lot to change when replacing the login flow. They come pre patched. Latest version is most functional while 8.56 is basically dead. Yes, calls work perfectly. Login won’t work for some people because it hardcodes the generic Teams consumer tenant ID, which may be rejected in certain countries. I suggest using a VPN in that case.
