Hi ppl

Wanted to share some progress regarding Skype 7 support over at NotSkype

We got login working recently, and are currently working on basic contacts/chat features. Would also appreciate any information/documentation regarding the Skype 7 protocol.

I don’t really have an estimate as to when our service will be “complete” and publicly released, but hopefully it will at worst be by the end of this year. Since there isn’t currently many well-known Skype 7 revival services, we may be releasing source code (or at least some documentation) for our project, but only once it is (near?) complete.

quite early to say, but definitely looking to see how i can release the server/source

will minimally be releasing protocol documentation which will aid in writing similar services

also the code isnt hosted anywhere (eg github) for the time being

Some updates:

I got mood/status messages working, and rn I’m working on user Profiles.

As you can tell from the screenshot, profile isn’t really complete yet, some information (eg phone number) doesn’t show correctly on the recipient/contact’s side (don’t mind the NPC ahh usernames :stuck_out_tongue:)

Hoping to finish profiles and avatars/PFPs by tomorrow, then will work on image/file transfers and group chats.
