I’m trying to hold out at least till Thursday to install on real hardware, with the assumption they’ll be a proper official release (although that’s by no means guaranteed).

Gatekeeping of words, especially online, is problematic at best. The meaning and context of what someone says is far more important. If you’re truly offended, I would ask why, and also why someone saying a specific word, non-maliciously, and not directed at you, has affected you.
