hey guys,
nina.chats website is revived if you didnt know,
And paywalling is only for new users, for aim and stuff,
what are yall thoughts?
it’s lame. i’m not 100% sure on what to think on escargot/nina but i deleted my accnt for them a few days ago because i got sketched out by the BS that escargot was up to. i think crosstalk is better but i’m not 100% sure. atm i’m just tryna get WLM 2009 working LOL
Good. I got tired of using Crosstalk, especially after NINA and Escargot’s development haulted. Yeah, sure, there was controversy with Escargot’s staff, but, I wouldn’t say that Crosstalk didn’t also have it’s fair share of drama. I guess it might be me, but, I dunno I generally prefer Escargot/Nina over anything Crosstalk related lol
to be honest i actually liked crosstalk untill now, NINA is starting development again but i just want users on there more there due also ICQ 8 support and AIM 8.0,and no offense to the MG community and HIDEN but crosstalk just wants to farm users even although escargot has about 2k users online per day,
I’m not on any side and even I think this is a perverse take.
A community wants to farm users… Yeah if it’s public that’s the point right? It’s not like other servers would also like their user counts higher, even for no return in value.
as if that number isn’t inflated by poorly programmed statistics . . .
The Old Guard overstayed its welcome with draconic practices and overall poor community, sorry… Escargot also doesn’t actively enforce any policies regarding COPPA or bare minimum determination of being below or above the age of majority in a country (neither Escargot or CrossTalk do, to be fair) and that results in an infestation of literal toddlers LARPing about The Old Retros Messaging. That isn’t designed to be a very safe environment.
Escargot expects more than 100 dollars for “All access *, ad-free service, optional 3 character name”, and 200 for “All access to all future services forever, ad-free service, optional 2 or 3 character name, special chat room for new info, your ideas, feedback, and more”, which is something that Wikimedia doesn’t even do. That is greed incentivized.
pff, i didnt think about that for a second i meant like they flex a lot, no offense too, maybe thats also what any other servers do but hmm
Define “flexing”.
