no it don’t work, i tried, it give me this image

Yes, it works, the only thing you had to do is install a patch that changes the protocol of MSNP13 to MSNP12. The executable of the WLM installer doesn’t work but you can extract the archives with WinRAR and execute the archive ā€œMsnMsgs.msiā€

Patch: msnm8patch
WLM 8.0 Beta: https://archive.org/download/MsnMessengerClients2/Windows%20Live%20Messenger%208.0.0365.0%20(English%20-%20United%20States).zip

First off, that is a necrobump.

And I just want to bring this up from 2019:

Huh. Guess the implementation I’m working on is for an older version of MSNP13. Is that how bad our documentation really is?

Anyway, yeah. I guess there is a chance for these clients to log in.

…What I really want is better MSNP13 documentation, then, I’m trying to get Messenger 8.1/8.5 to login. Guessing it’s our RST2 implementation. Probably ABCH thinking about it.

Yeah, we need more MSNP13 documentation.

the documentation we have available (nina wiki, etc…) is barely helpful when it comes to MSNP13 and higher sadly, you have to diy for a lot of stuff and figure it out yourself or else give up, i’m gonna try working on a complete MSNP documentation with some other people tho once i discover everything myself

the only way to ā€œuseā€ wlm 8.0 beta actually is using a skin of messenger plus for windows 8.5/8.1
it’s not so accurate but works to see the beta design atleast

here is the link:
