MSN Messenger 5.0 working again on windows nt 4.0

I’ve already tried methods like using WebOne or Fiddler to access Escargot servers on msnmsgr 5.0 on windows NT 4.0, but it doesn’t work. Is there any solution to this?

dont use escargot. use crosstalk instead. there basicially escargot + nina in one service

Don’t bully others for using Escargot-

ik but escargot did alot of bad things and we need to stop there growth of users

ppl still recommending escargot despite not having maintainer in team, its stagnating

It’s handled by a company, not someone else…also,is it ridiculous someone would bully?

lol were not bulliying were givin advice

I know but still…he needed help with this…

There was only a single Escargot developer with any MSNP skills (Animadoria), and he left the team in September of last year. He also was doing a majority of the work on NINA up until then.

“Escargot 2.0” (now Snailboat, I guess) was made open source but all it is is empty boilerplate. As is most things that they released. Which is honestly not a shock at all to me because when have you ever seen any real news (as in, screenshots, etc) about it?

MSN 5.0 on NT 4.0,even if compatible with a specific cannot be patched just on NT 4.0 automatically due to its patching program requiring at least XP to run correctly…

Use 4.6 or any version of 4.x before 4.7.2005 or 4.7.2009 (NT 4.0 doesn’t support 4.7.2009 but that doesn’t matter.),for me,i used 4.7.0106,but any could work…

Of course theoretically…if you wanted it to work, then patch it on XP or later first then transfer the files to NT 4.0 and replace them with these files…But i could be wrong.

yes, im migrate to crosstalk, now i can make work msn messenger 5.0 on windows nt 4.0

I’ve already found a solution to the problem; now I use Crosstalk and WebOne for redirection, but I was able to patch it by modifying the hex file of msnmsgr.exe.
