So, I’ve been playing around with using new transports for MSN Chat, and thought why not do the same with Messenger?
Well, now I have built the world’s first WebSocket server that speaks MSNP.
It’s only tested on Windows Messenger v4.6, but will likely work with other versions capable of speaking MSNP7 (more protocols to come)
The service is completely powered by Cloudflare, and there’s no patching / no hosts file edits / no registry hacks. Simply drop the version.dll available from the website in your messenger folder. To remove it, just take that file out.
As I said, it’s untested on most versions of Messenger, but I am interested to know if anyone wants to try it out. - Requires Win10+, but will be compatible with Win95+ soon.
