It’s come to my attention that my trick to add a password to new ICQ accounts (or accounts that don’t have a password on it due to the current registration scheme) has been rendered useless, according to a few people. Now it will simply error out and nothing more.
And since I’m now in the know of 7.x supporting logins with phone numbers, that won’t work anymore either, as it will spit out a generic “Something went wrong” error when you attempt to login.
To put it shortly, old ICQ client usage is officially locked in to existing ICQ users with a password attached to their account. Never expected it to be so soon.
