How to extract the default MSN winks?

I would like to extract the default MSN winks that come pre-installed with MSN Messenger and save them as .SWF or .FLA files, how can I do that?

This is pretty easy to do, you just need to sign into Messenger at least once and then the resources will be extracted to your account’s ObjectStore folder.

To find it, assuming you’re using a modern version of Windows and Messenger 8.5, open up the Windows Run box or press the Start button, type in %localappdata%\microsoft\messenger and hit enter. Then open up the folder corresponding to your Escargot account, then ObjectStore and then Winks3. The files you’re after are the .dt2 files, which are technically MCO files (otherwise known as CABs) that any archiving tool (7zip, WinRAR, et al.) can open and you’ll find a swf in each file.

That all said, if you want to save yourself all that effort, I 7zipped them up for you.
