Hi friends! I’m new here :3 Recently I’ve decided to switch from Escargot to Crosstalk, and while I got Yahoo! Messenger to work just fine, I can’t seem to get MSN Messenger to work with Crosstalk’s servers and stuff. I’ve tried everything I could think of; installing the patched Crosstalk installer, patching it myself, changing the registries, uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting all MSN related folders I could find, but nothing worked. Is there any other way I could do to make this work? I use MSN Messenger 5.0, if that helps!

I don’t really know what state your install is in at this point with deleted folders, etc. What operating system version are you running? That will help me give some more guided advice.
We like to handle more “complex” cases like this in our Discord in the help desk channel because it’s just easier for everyone all around (more real-time responses) but I can also provide help here as well if you can’t/don’t use Discord.
I’m currently running Windows 10 22H2. It’s really strange; I accidentally patched my Yahoo with NINA yuckiness but was able to reverse it fairly quickly. As for MSN, I would typically just go back to a point where I didn’t have it installed, but I’ve installed many applications by then and I just don’t feel like reinstalling everything I have on my computer. I could maybe go on the Discord if you’d like but I don’t use it often anyway, so I feel like help here would be best. Also, real-time isn’t always the best for me since I like to read things over many times and that just wouldn’t be possible on Discord
Should be able to say you’re having trouble uninstalling something, at which point you can select “MSN Messenger” and it should just get rid of any existing traces. Then try to install CrossTalk’s version.
