How can i make escargot accounts like example@hotmail.com or example@gmail.com?

Hi there! Is there a way to make my account extention @hotmail.com or @gmail.com?? Thanks! i just wanna feel more nostagic…

You can’t do this on Escargot. Email addresses (the ones used for login) are <username>@escargot.chat, and for a reason.

if you need a @hotmail.com escargot account for MSN 1, heres what the website says:

MSN 1 only supports login on @hotmail.com , however simply enter your username without @escargot.chat and ignore the @hotmail.com part.

so you can ignore it!

this is what i asked! the same thing happens with example@outlook.com that you cant.

ok this is a dead thread but lemme provide an explanation

back in the day you were able to make an escargot account with whatever email address you preferred. basically if u made an account on username@gmail.com for example then your escargot email address was username@gmail.com. this caused problems with some software like msn messenger 1.0 which only worked with Hotmail addresses, plus id argue there mightve been a concern with email spam because of those “share your contact” threads.

this was no longer made possible in 2022 with the modernization update.
