I’d like to know if it’d be possible to get the Windows version of Google Talk to connect again.
I know that Hangouts replaced it, but desktop messengers are so much better.
you can use im+, you can sign in android. doing this, your account will be blocked. you have to enter to security settings and choose “It was me”, to allow use aplication

yes. but IM+ works, in Gmail web works, even Android, then in Windows should work too.
pidgin for this type of thing works in windows but because it’s google’s service, the protocol continues working on the google hangouts servers even though hangouts doesn’t support xmpp service anymore.
well hangouts never supported xmpp in the first place but google talk still works with it regardless.
