I couldn’t really remember the password, but in desperation, I looked for the password which was written down somewhere in my house, doesn’t matter where.
So right now my issue is that I can’t login to my Escargot account, at all.
When I try that in WLM 8.5, this error will show up:
We cannot sign you in to Windows Live Messenger because we have made changes to Windows Live Messenger that affect your account.

[OK]
I believe usually this is RST HRESULT 0x80048826? (PPCRL_REQUEST_E_FORCE_RENAME_REQUIRED)? I forgot. I probably need to run a RST server myself and document what responses each error code gives you.
Your username appears on malware password leaks. Escargot did not have a leak, but at some point you must have downloaded something which took passwords from your computer. Be sure to login to the website and change your account password and your legacy password (if you use it).
Places like haveibeenpwned are where to start I guess, but I don’t really have any other details, but it would’ve been your username or email that your account is under, one of the two.
