For whatever reason, I can't login anymore...? And I'm using correct data

Hello there!

Long time no see, huh?

I couldn’t really remember the password, but in desperation, I looked for the password which was written down somewhere in my house, doesn’t matter where.

So right now my issue is that I can’t login to my Escargot account, at all.

When I try that in WLM 8.5, this error will show up:

This says that there were changes in WLM that affect my account.

So I decided I’d try to log in on NINA or Escargot… And this is what I got.

What the heck does this even mean? I can’t join the Discord Server either, for whatever reason.

If anyone has any clue or can help me regarding this issue, I’ll be a thousand times grateful.

Yours truly,

Mega.

Well, what’s your username?

I believe this is meant to be:

We cannot sign you in to Windows Live Messenger because we have made changes to Windows Live Messenger that affect your account.

For more information and to continue using Windows Live Messenger, please click OK.

[OK]

I believe usually this is RST HRESULT 0x80048826? (PPCRL_REQUEST_E_FORCE_RENAME_REQUIRED)? I forgot. I probably need to run a RST server myself and document what responses each error code gives you.

My bad, I did forget to include that. Username is megatheitlearner

Or megatheitlearner@escargot.chat

Correct. That is the message translated.

Your account has been restored.

Your username appears on malware password leaks. Escargot did not have a leak, but at some point you must have downloaded something which took passwords from your computer. Be sure to login to the website and change your account password and your legacy password (if you use it).

Woah. Where can I check that? What was leaked? the escargot username? The escargot e-mail? MY real email? the password?

I’m gonna act upon ASAP. Thank you for letting me know!

I did change the password though, as I thought that was the problem

Places like haveibeenpwned are where to start I guess, but I don’t really have any other details, but it would’ve been your username or email that your account is under, one of the two.
