Thanks Trekkie, but I already tried the above method. I still get the same result and error unfortunately after following the instructions.
Do you have IE11
Do you realise that hes running windows10? Win10 comes with ie11 already.
Have you by chance renamed Messenger’s executable to something other than msnmsgr.exe? If that’s the case, open the registry editor, head to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
, then click on msnmsgr.exe
and then press F2 to rename it to whatever your new name is. Then do the same for the value at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_GPU_RENDERING
.
If that isn’t the case, could you either screenshot or export your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
key?
No, I can confirm I didn’t touch the registry by myself other than using the downloadable executable you provided on the top of this thread.
As such, here’s a picture of the requested register area:
Hope this helps.
WLM 2009 has tabs. does it work on WLM 2009?
Yes. It’s really cool. But why im here is becouse i wanna add more tabs to wlm. Like becouse we are in 2024, escargot onl have like 4 tabs or so. How can i add tabs? pls replyy
how u add all this tabs ?
By using Escargot in 2017 or a Messenger Configuration from 2005. These days, the selection of tabs provided depends on your configuration server.
You can change configuration servers by changing the configserver
argument in the redirector, or specify the config.messenger.msn.com
domain if using an alternative patcher.
Messenger Configuration servers are mostly expected to work with their related MSNP servers, and/or authentication endpoints.
I remember some people creating their own Config Servers just to get custom tabs.
Is that actually possible? would love to do that to make MSN messenger more accurate to how it was back in the day
