Been working on this dumb thing with a long abandoned linux drive that’s just sat in my PC unplugged (I have a GTX 970 and it sucks on linux)
I heavily gutted said linux install (Ubuntu) and now it serves as an automatic bridge to the world of the Macintosh, Amiga and IIGS! All i need to do is boot into it, login and press 1-3!
Here’s it in action! I compiled MiniVMac from source to have it display like it does (res can only be changed via a compiler launch option)
System 7 and Workbench run so nicely it feels native. After posting this vid, I figured out why the IIGS screen was tearing so much, and turning on V-Sync fixed it, and now it’s also smooth.
Look here for my write up on it!
And just why is it called “NCHardDrive”? I nicknamed my desktop, because of the case it uses (Corsair Carbide Air 540), as the “Nextcube 2” as a joke.
