A look back at the forum and Escargot (2017-2019)

I’ve been wanting to make a post like this for a long time, discussing some of what happened during my time on this forum. Let’s start before I joined. So a long time ago, I saw that AIM was still working and I had created an account for it. I had wondered if MSN Messenger was working, but sadly no. I did stumble upon Messenger Reviver, but it was dead at that time. Enough Googling and I found Escargot. I was amazed at the effort that was put in, and I still am to this day. I told some friends and we goofed around with it. Fast-forward a few months later, and I decided to join the forum. I was pleasantly surprised at how innocent/peaceful it was, especially around the time I was telling some people that were on the forum that I had autism. The only bad thing around on the forum was… I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules to mention his name or something. He was just a little annoying. Fast forward a bit later and I decided to create my own MSN Messenger server, since I was so inspired by Escargot. And a certain someone wasn’t happy. That was the first, and I hope the only time I’m involved with drama on here. I made a couple other insignificant things, more advancements were happening with Escargot, (and I even helped somewhat get video working with 8.5!), drama, drama, and drama. Now we just have average normal every-day forum-y stuff and a little bit of “Where’s WLM 2009? Is valtron dead?” This forum has definitely been a wild roller coaster, but I prefer it to the way it was when there was nothing but drama.

imma be real here, i used to like this forum more when there was almost no drama, but i guess this won’t stop since pretty much almost every forum usually has drama
