WLM 2012 not working (Crosstalk)

Problem description:Cannot login into Windows Live Messenger.

Error code/error message: 80048821

What has been tried so far: Patching with StudPE, Enabling TLS 1.0, 1.1, Clearing Windows Credentials

Messenger version: Windows Live Messenger 2012

Windows version: Windows 8.1

Service (CrossTalk/Escargot/etc):Crosstalk

Do you have testing access enabled on your profile?

As a side note, WLM 2012 support is currently in a very basic state on CrossTalk - patching it on Windows 8 can (and probably will) break Microsoft account integration. I’d personally recommend just using 2009.

nope i dont have testing access, also microsoft login doesnt work for windows 8.1

Patching WLM 2012 with CrossTalk (not can, will) breaks Microsoft login, as you were warned about in the patching instructions here.

Are you able to log in with the same credentials on the same PC with 2009?

If you get the same error, your email or password is wrong. If it works then it’s possible the MS account service is being screwy.
