Trying to install 8.1 but can't

I’m unable to install WLM 8.1. I uninstalled 2009, but it still shows the “Your computer has a newer version of Windows Live Messenger than the one you are trying to install.” message. I’ve tried uninstalling WLE 2009, but it still isn’t installing.

if you were installing 8.1 then go back to 2009. if you want to uninstall 8.1 then use Zapmessenger and go back to 2009 it is recommended you.
