Windows 98 or XP?
classic theme cool
I missed Win 98 (this laptop unfortunately has no drivers for Win 9x) so I changed the theme and some icons, mouse cursor theme and screen saver to classic Win 9x. I don’t like to use VM very much, I prefer it on a real machine.
It is XP.
my laptop has the glory of having drivers that support 2000
My laptop also supports Windows 2000 because it supports XP.
My Toshiba Satellite officially supports Vista only on its website, but looking at some drivers more closely had versions for XP and I joined other drivers from the same A105 series with XP support. I think I can even get drivers for 2k.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Start menu has the windows xp flag.
it’s xp
hehe
just use windows 2000 for a similar experience although a much stabler system compared to xp and 98
one thing should be noted, you have to get lucky with drivers, either your system has 2000 drivers, or the xp drivers work with 2000 or you’re out of luck
i got lucky my old laptop had 2000 compatible drivers made for xp, on way around is installing it via devmgmt.msc (device manager)
How old is that laptop?
… 2010
there are 2 revisions of the same laptop on windows 2000 in this post:
1.
2.
3. (different installation, windows 2000 advanced server)
My laptop is from 2007
idk try installing windows 2000 and then drivers from xp and by sheer luck they can work
3 ways i can tell this is xp
- msn 7.5 working
- i think mypal dosent work on 98
- (the most obvious) the start button has the xp flag
yeah all of these are correct, mypal doesn’t work on 98
why am i not in your buddy list yet
Very cool! I used Windows 2k very little, I venture to say that I used ME more than 2k. Although I find it very cool, I am not an operating system tester like you so I only use versions of systems that I liked at that time.
It was a joke.
well i used XP on my Inspiron more compared to 2000. i’ve actually went through 2 installs, one of them completely destroyed themselves just from me powering the computer off during boot
