Problem description: Adding new contacts works but they wont show up as online even if they are and if i click on them it crashes

What has been tried so far: Reinstalling
Messenger version: WLM 8.5
Windows version: Windows 7
I have had the exact same problem with a few select contacts but on Windows 10.
The crashing thing I think happens because of how WLM handles interacting with offline contacts with Escargot patches atm. That’s normal I suppose. As for the other issue of them not appearing online, you’ll have to log out and log back in (or get your contact to do the same).
Im helping GC with this issue on WLM right now currently.
UPDATE:
Me and him have tried different techniques of Uninstalling Messenger and using different versions, But hes unable to see that im Online and some others apparently. Even thou to him it says he has added me as a Contact, On my end, it doesnt show him as an added contact on my list from the Settings > Privacy Area.
I think its working now, i can see wolf now, and i can offline message now.
Offline messaging… doesn’t work. If you just said that in the first place you wouldn’t have had to go through several client installations.
well it might work if the person was online but i couldnt see them as online
But atleast its working now.
