Every 2 messages I send it crashes. Might have to do w/the fact I’m using the 32-bit version on 64-bit Windows 10?

This is a Windows 10 incompatibility (both in 32-bit and 64-bit versions) where the application gets stuck. You should be able to mitigate this by turning on compatibility mode for Messenger.
To do so, navigate in File Explorer to C:\Program Files (x86)\MSN Messenger. Then right-click the msnmsgr.exe application, choose Properties, and then choose the Compatibility tab.
Select the checkbox next to ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’ and then select Windows 8 in the list.
Finally, click OK and then you can use Messenger as per normal.
