CLM does not use the Escargot service, it uses miscellaneous HTTP requests which can be tampered with easily.

What exactly does CLM offer that outperforms Escargot aside from a (very off) WLM 2009-skinned chat application? It doesn’t even support things WLM 2009 introduced like Groups, because if that’s what you’re looking for, then CLM’s not it. It’s a decent clone of Windows Live Messenger at best, and a nostalgia cash grab at worst.
