5.0 freezes too, and im running windows 10.
please help! (using aim phoenix) and aim tamer does not work either.
update : im just gonna use aim on my windows xp vm.
happens to me as well on windows 7 64-bit
i would say compatibility issues

try using 4.x
Usese aim 5.0 or 5.9 (check out my topic for the fix for 5.9 btw).
