I just wanted to know… What the meta tag? I’ve already read something on the web but i cannot understand where to use it or what it does 
The <meta> tag provides metadata about the HTML document. Metadata will not be displayed on the page, but will be machine parsable. Meta elements are typically used to specify page description, keywords, author of the document, last modified, and other metadata.

but search engines doesnt use meta tags anymore
It doesn’t “do” anything in particular. It lets you define arbitrary metadata on the page that may or may not have meaning to other code.
